About the Artist:
CALIFORNIA
Silvia Vassileva pursued her love of art at the Academy of Fine Art in Bulgaria, where she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. She spent six years painting and exhibiting her work in Japan before moving to the U.S. Silvia describes her style as very free and bold. She makes her paintings come alive by using contrast and unusual color palettes. Silvia’s home studio, which she designed herself, is bright, contemporary and minimalist.

I am Bay Area born and raised…four generations of us. I received my Bachelor of Arts from Cal State East Bay and I have made a career in the arts through a combination of art publishing; posters and giclees for the home décor market and through selling originals through galleries and online shops as well as the occasional commission. I am inspired by the artists I talk to who motivate me in new directions. I am inspired by the sheer volume of talent in the area where I live. The Bay Area is full of incredible talent and here it is treasured and valued.
My work is a variety of mediums from acrylic on wood panel to mixed media on canvas, wood, paper or any available substrate. I have also been very successful in creating digital paintings and have over 500 prints available on the market through publishers and third party print on demand channels.
I have a grown daughter who lives nearby and my husband and I live in Martinez with our puggle named McGuyver. I spend too much time on Instagram…I love traveling and riding my bike and reading non-fiction books and watching random comedies.
